Content

Are you being told the truth, or are people hiding information from you?

Mikkel Severin's Deception Detection Training is targeted companies and individuals who want to detect lies and deceit in order to validate information received during a conversation, an interview, or in any other normal interaction.

The application of Deception Detection Training is universal. The techniques can for example be used in negotiations, advising clients, reading buy and sell signals of customers or in any other way to read people to determine if you can trust what is being said, determine the persons true feeling and ultimately whether they are lying or being deceitfull towards you.

The course highlights the important fact that there no universal indicator of lie exist, but only verbal- and non-verbal "hot spots". Observation of many hotspots is at best a sign of poor communication from the sender's side, since there is incongruence between what the person says and how inter alia the person's voice, face and body responds. In worst case - and far more likely - it is a sign that you are not being told the truth.

The purpose of the course is that the participants will get the tools to be able to identify "hot spots" with your customers / clients / counterparties / business partners / employees, etc. during a conversation, an interview, or in any other situation. Observation of "hotspots" will allow participants to provide accurate in-depth questions about the topic that creates discomfort for the sender.

FAQ

How good are people generally to detect lies?

Studies since 1986 have demonstrated that people are generally no better than chance (50/50) to detect a lie (Ekman & O'Sullivan 1991, 913-920; Granhag & Ström Wall in 2004, 169; Mann & Vrij 2004).

Do I need to conduct "formal" interviews to benefit from the course?

No, not at all. The tools from Deception Detection Training can be used in any interaction you may have, whether it's at work or private. They are universal in application.
